Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers

The Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers (5S) was established in Arizona in October of 1940 to recognize individuals who contribute in some outstanding measure to the activities and betterment of the Member Association.  There are now members all over the United States and Canada, all of whom have been “selected” on the basis of merit, and inducted, initiated and integrated into the Society.   View 5S Member Roster.

The annual 5S meeting will take place during NEWEA’s Annual Conference & Exhibit by invitation.

5S Nominations – Members Only

Please provide a brief description of justification for nomination (please keep nomination brief — a maximum of 300 words is suggested); deadline for nominations is January 5, 2024.  SUBMIT ONLINE  No verbal nominations will be accepted.  Nominations received after the January 5th deadline will not be accepted.  Nominations may be mailed, faxed, or emailed.  Please note that nominations are confidential and are not for wider distribution.  Any distribution, beyond the NEWEA office, of the nomination form will be cause for rejection of nomination.  In addition, lobbying for votes is discouraged, as it is hoped that shovelers will be chosen on their merits rather than for political considerations.
